Frequently asked questions
How do you add two fractions?
Give them a common denominator, add the numerators, then simplify. For example, 1/2 + 3/4 becomes 2/4 + 3/4 = 5/4, which is 1¼. This calculator does all of that for you.
How do you divide fractions?
Multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal (flip) of the second. So 1/2 ÷ 3/4 = 1/2 × 4/3 = 4/6 = 2/3.
