How is body fat percentage calculated?
We use the U.S. Navy Method formula, which considers neck, waist (and hip for women) measurements along with height and weight for accuracy.
What is a healthy body fat percentage?
For men: 6-24% (athletes 6-13%, fitness 14-17%, average 18-24%). For women: 16-30% (athletes 14-20%, fitness 21-24%, average 25-30%).
How accurate is this calculator?
While not as precise as DEXA scans, the Navy Method is 95% accurate when measurements are taken correctly (use a flexible tape measure at narrowest points).
